Golf Australia's Commercial Partners
Audi
The Audi Group delivered 1,302,659 cars of the Audi brand to customers in 2011. The Company is active in more than 100 markets worldwide, including Australia where the brand has grown year-on-year for the past seven years. Audi currently employs around 64,000 people worldwide, including around 48,000 in Germany. Between 2012 and 2016 the brand with the four rings is planning to invest a total of €13 billion – mainly in new products and the extension of production capacities – in order to sustain the Company’s technological lead embodied in its “Vorsprung durch Technik” slogan.
Audi has long been fulfilling its social responsibility on many levels – with the aim of making the future worth living for generations to come. The basis for Audi’s lasting success is therefore formed by environmental protection, the conservation of resources, international competitiveness and a forward-looking human resources policy. One example of AUDI AG’s commitment to environmental issues is the Audi Environmental Foundation. Within the context of “Vorsprung durch Technik,” which extends far beyond its products, the Company is directing its activities toward a major goal – comprehensive CO2-neutral mobility.

Groupon
Groupon and Golf Australia entered into an Industry Partnership at the start of 2011, just at the same time that the on-line buying phenomenon hit Australia. Groupon’s interest in golf extends beyond the deals it is able to offer to include support and sponsorship also of our Women’s Australian Open. Groupon’s overall vision for golf is to establish dominant market positioning while being able to provide us with a level of promotion of the sport through its on-line platform.
Groupon is the inventor of the on-line voucher concept worldwide; a relatively new concept for selling vacant inventory and packaging it up to make it attractive and appealing for high volume sales.
Groupon gives golf clubs the opportunity to target “new customers’ based on regional segmentation (via postcode or national coverage) of products that they wish to promote to encourage “new business”. The key to this success model is the ability of the club to then be able to make the conversion of a new customer into a regular one or member.
