Indooroopilly newcomer Wayne Bridgman has won the inaugural Gold Coast Senior Classic. Bridgman followed his opening 76 with a very good even par round of 72 for a 36 hole total of 4 over par 148. Second place went to the experienced NSW senior Denis Dale who had consistent rounds of 75-76=151. Rod Dale from Coolangatta Tweed (78-74=152) shared third place with another ranking event regular Col Hallam from Redcliffe (75-77=152).
The Lakelands course was in magnificent condition and it was hard to see the effects of recent rains. Perfect fairways and superb greens with sunny westhaer made sure all players enjoyed the day. The Gold Coast Senior Championship was a major success and the field of well over 100 enjoyed playing on two top class courses.
